Overview
Why Replace Your Old Boiler?
If your boiler is more than 10 years old, you are very likely paying 25–35% more than you need to on every gas bill. Modern A-rated condensing boilers convert over 90% of fuel into usable heat — older non-condensing units waste up to a third up the flue.
DPS supplies and installs the full range of leading boilers — Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Ideal, Baxi and Viessmann — sized correctly to your home, your hot water demand, and your radiator system. We never oversize for an easy life and we never undersize to win a quote.
Every install is carried out by a qualified engineer, certified, notified to Building Control, and registered for the full manufacturer warranty (up to 12 years on selected Worcester and Vaillant models).
From quote to commissioning, you deal with one local team. No call centres, no subcontracted strangers, no upsell scripts.
Why It Matters
The Real Cost of Putting Off a Replacement
An old, inefficient boiler costs the average Manchester household £300–£500 a year in wasted gas. Across the typical 5 years people delay a replacement, that's up to £2,500 paid to your energy supplier for heat that never made it into your home.
Then there are the breakdown costs. A failed pump, PCB or diverter valve on a 12-year-old boiler is rarely worth fixing — repair bills of £400–£700 are common, and the next fault is usually weeks away.
The worst-case scenario is a winter failure. Going days without heating or hot water in January with children or elderly relatives at home is a position no one wants to be in. New boiler stocks are tighter and lead times longer when demand spikes.
Replacing on your terms — at a planned time, with a fixed price and a proper warranty — is always cheaper, calmer and warmer than replacing in a panic.

Power Flush & Commissioning
Where required, we power flush the system to remove sludge that would otherwise damage your new boiler. Every install is commissioned to manufacturer specification.
Registration & Aftercare
We notify Building Control through the appropriate Competent Person Scheme, register the manufacturer warranty in your name, and hand over all paperwork. Aftercare and servicing are available year-round.

In Detail
Choosing the Right Boiler for Your Manchester Home
Boiler choice depends on three things: how many bathrooms you have, how many people live in the house, and what type of system you currently run. Getting any of these wrong leads to weak showers, slow hot water recovery, or a boiler that short-cycles itself to an early grave.
Combi boilers are the most popular choice for 1–2 bathroom homes. They heat water on demand, take up less space (no cylinder, no loft tank), and are typically the cheapest to install. Modern combis from Worcester Bosch (Greenstar 4000, 8000) and Vaillant (ecoTEC plus) deliver 28–42kW outputs that comfortably run a powerful shower and a kitchen tap simultaneously.
System boilers paired with an unvented hot water cylinder are the right answer for larger homes (3+ bathrooms or multiple en-suites). Stored hot water at mains pressure means three showers can run at once with no drop in flow. We install Megaflo, Telford and Joule cylinders sized to family demand.
Conventional (regular/heat-only) boilers still suit older properties with gravity-fed systems and existing cylinder/tank arrangements where a full system change isn't practical or cost-effective. We replace like-for-like or upgrade where it adds value.
Manchester housing stock matters too. Victorian terraces in Salford and Chorlton often have undersized 15mm gas supply runs that won't feed a modern 35kW combi — we upgrade to 22mm where required, and quote the upgrade upfront. New-build properties typically have integrated smart controls already wired in, which we configure for your new boiler.
We are accredited installers for Worcester Bosch, Vaillant and Ideal — meaning we can register their longest warranties (10–12 years) which a non-accredited installer cannot. We also fit Baxi, Viessmann and Glow-worm where they suit the job better.
Every installation includes: a magnetic system filter (MagnaClean or Adey) to protect the new boiler from sludge, a chemical inhibitor dose, scale reducer where the water is hard, and a programmable room thermostat or smart control. Building Control notification is filed within 30 days as legally required.
