They require a solid countertop material (granite, quartz, or solid surface) for support. Top-mount (inset) sinks are more versatile and work with all countertop materials including laminate. They're also easier to replace later. For most Manchester kitchens, a 1.5-bowl sink offers the best balance of washing space and food preparation convenience. ## Choosing the Right Kitchen Tap Mixer taps are now standard in kitchens — they're more convenient and more water-efficient than separate hot and cold taps. Each appliance should have its own isolating valve on the supply pipes, allowing individual appliances to be disconnected without shutting off water to the entire kitchen.
